Set up your first project

Create a project, add your documents, invite your team and put Muro to work.

A project in Muro holds everything for one bid or job: the documents, your team, and every activity you run. Set it up once, and Muro can answer questions and run reviews across the whole set.

1. Create the project

  1. Click the project switcher (top-left).

  2. Click Create new project.

  3. Enter a Name and, if you like, a Description.

  4. Click Create Project.

💡 Tip: You can change the name and description later in Project Workspace › Project Settings › Project Details.

2. Add your documents

Open Project Workspace in the sidebar. You have two options.

Upload from your computer

  1. Click Add Files.

  2. Choose Upload files from your device or Upload folder from your device.

  3. Wait for the upload to finish. You'll see Upload, then Indexing progress.

Sync from your file system

  1. Open the SharePoint tab.

  2. Click Sync from SharePoint and pick the folders you want.

Synced folders update about every 30 minutes, so new addenda show up without re-uploading. Click Unlink to stop syncing. Nothing is deleted in SharePoint.

🔒 An admin has to connect your file storage first, in Settings › Data Connectors: SharePoint, Google Drive, Procore or Autodesk. If you can't connect yours, contact our team.

3. Invite your team

  1. Click your name at the bottom-left, then Settings.

  2. Open User Management and click Invite member.

  3. Enter their email. They'll get an invitation to set up their account. See How to set up your account.

4. Put it to work

Your project is ready. Pick a job from Use Cases, for example Catch drawing vs spec conflicts before you price, or just ask a question in New Activity.

Tips & best practices

  • ✅ One project per bid or job. Muro searches the whole project, so mixing jobs mixes answers.

  • ✅ Upload complete sets. Full drawings and the full project manual give better findings than single sheets.

  • 💡 Name files clearly, for example "Architectural drawings – Addendum 2". It's easier for you to find, select and check sources.

  • 💡 Use folders (New Folder) for drawings, specs, addenda and bid documents.

Good to know

  • Each file can be up to 500 MB. Your file limit is shown at the bottom-left of Project Workspace.

  • You can preview, rename, move, download or delete a file from its ⋯ menu.
